Rummy Instructions

If you like the game Rummikub, then here you can play Rummy against intelligent computer opponents.

The idea is that you must play the cards in such a way that you are first person to have no cards left.

For your first move you must place a set with at least 30 points which is called the initial meld. A set is a group of at least 3 cards that is either a run e.g. 9-10-11(in the same suit) or cards of the same value e.g. 10-10-10 (in different suits). It's worth remembering that a joker is not worth any points. If you can't make this initial move, you have to keep picking up cards on each of your turns until you can lay the initial meld.

After you lay the first set, you can add to other groups of cards one card at a time and lay low value sets e.g. 1-1-1. You can rearrange all the cards as required to change the sets that are on the board, as long as the sets created have at least 3 correct cards in them. As the game progresses you'll find that moves can take a little time to ponder and towards the end, finding the perfect combination that will allow you to win immediately is well worth the trouble.

This version of Rummy is a quick card game and a nice alternative to solitaire. It is played over one round. So it's all or nothing in this!
