10x10 game info
10x10 (also called TenTrix) is a block puzzle game that offers a refreshing twist on the classic Tetris game. 10x10 challenges players to strategically place blocks on a grid to create and clear complete rows and columns, providing a unique and engaging gameplay.
Gameplay
Players are presented with three polyomino shapes at the bottom of the game screen. These shapes are made of colorful blocks. Note that they unlike in Tetris, the shapes cannot be rotated. Also note that the colors of the shape don’t mean anything.
The objective is to place these shapes on the grid to form complete rows and columns, which then disappear to make room for more shapes.
Once the initial three shapes at the bottom are dragged onto the grid, three new shapes will appear.
Points are awarded for each block placed and for each full line cleared.
The game ends when the shapes at the bottom of the screen cannot be placed on the grid.
Shapes
These shapes appear in the 10x10 game, made up of one to nine blocks:
- Little square (1x1)
- Line shapes (length 2, 3, 4 or 5, in either horizontal or vertical direction)
- Small L shapes (in four possible directions)
- Large L shapes (in four possible directions)
- Regular square (2x2)
- Large square (3x3)
Tips and tricks
- Always make sure to leave space for larger shapes (3x3 square, long line pieces).
- Use the large L shapes in the appropriate corner, if possible.
- Use line pieces at the sides of the grid, if possible.
- Look at the three pieces that are dealt and think about how you are going to place all three, instead of immediately placing one or two of them.
- If you’re stuck, change your perspective from clearing rows to columns or vice versa. This can help to find a move that will make it possible to place a difficult shape.
- The best players focus on clearing rows and columns simultaneously.
Controls
Press and hold your left mouse button to drag shapes from the bottom of the screen onto the grid.
If you are on a touchscreen device, you can drag the shapes with your finger.
