Instructions for Demon Solitaire

In Demon Solitaire as it is known in England (or Canfield Solitaire as it is also widely known elsewhere) the goal is to move all the cards to the 4 foundation piles located in the upper right corner of the game.

The foundation piles are built in suit from Ace to King.

You can use the middle 4 piles to hold the cards temporarily while you build up the cards in the foundation piles.

Build the middle piles up in descending order with alternative colors.

If you have used all the stock cards and cannot put all the cards on the foundation, then it's game over. Be warned this game is very difficult and the odds of winning are quite low, so perseverance is a must.

Canfield Solitaire fact: it is thought that Canfield Solitaire was invented by Richard A. Canfield the owner of the Canfield Casino during the 1890s as a gambling game. Players would win back money for each card they successfully placed on the foundation after paying an initial entry fee.
