Brisbane Solitaire game info
- Family: Yukon type solitaire games
- Type: Half-open packer
- Decks: One deck (52 cards)
- Game time: Medium
- Chance of winning: High
Objective
The goal in Brisbane Solitaire is to move all the cards to the foundations, ordered from Ace to King in the same suit.
Deal & layout
Brisbane Solitaire uses one regular deck of playing cards (52 cards in total).
There are 7 tableau piles. The first pile is dealt 5 face-up cards, the second pile is dealt 1 face-down card and 5 face-up cards, the third pile is dealt 2 face-down cards and 5 face-up cards, the fourth pile is dealt 3 face-down cards and 4 face-up cards, etc. Basically the deal is like in Klondike Solitaire, but with 5 (or 4 for the last piles) face-up cards on top.
Allowed moves
- Building in the tableau is by descending rank, meaning cards can be placed on cards one rank higher. The suit of the cards doesn’t matter, you can place any suit on any other suit.
- Like in Yukon and Australian Patience, all face-up cards in the tableau are playable. It doesn’t matter whether the cards on top are correctly ordered by rank or not.
- Empty tableau piles can be filled with a King, or with a group of cards starting with a King.
- Like most solitaire games, the foundations are built by suit from Ace to King.
Similar games
- Yukon Solitaire has exactly the same rules as Brisbane except that building in the tableau is by suit. And the initial deal is a bit different.
- Australian Patience also allows moving all cards in the tableau, but it different in a few ways: building is by suit, it has a stock pile, and it is much more challenging.
System requirements
Brisbane Solitaire can be played in all modern browsers, on all device types (desktop, tablet, mobile), and on all operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, ...).
